Our Story
At G Cane, every cane has a story—and ours begins with friendship, perseverance, and a lifelong love of golf.
Our inspiration came from Gale Lemerand, an avid golfer whose passion for the game was a defining part of his life. When Gale began struggling with macular degeneration, he was faced with a difficult reality: he could no longer enjoy the game he loved, and he needed the support of a cane to help him get around. Like many people, he was reluctant to use one because it didn't reflect who he was or the life he had lived.
That's when his friend, Scott, had an idea.
Knowing how much golf meant to Gale, Scott found a vintage wooden golf driver and carefully repurposed it into a one-of-a-kind walking cane. The result was more than just a mobility aid—it was a meaningful piece of Gale's story, a reminder of the game he loved, and something he was proud to carry.
Wherever Gale went, people stopped him to admire it. They asked where he got it, commented on its craftsmanship, and wanted one of their own. What began as a thoughtful gift quickly revealed a bigger opportunity.
With the help of Scott's longtime friend Kenny and Gale's daughter Rhonda, G Cane was born.
Today, we create handcrafted golf-inspired canes that celebrate the spirit of the game while providing style, support, and conversation. Each G Cane honors golfers who want to carry a piece of their passion with them, whether they're walking the fairways or simply walking through life.
Our mission is simple: to transform a necessary walking aid into something meaningful, personal, and proudly displayed.
Because a cane shouldn't just help you walk—it should tell your story.
